Child Safety Standards
Last updated: June 2026 · Operator: OVDEVEL LLC (Republic of Georgia)
Urge is an adults-only dating application. The safety of minors is an absolute priority. This page sets out our child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) prevention policy, our prohibition of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), our reporting mechanisms, and the actions we take. This policy applies to all users, content, and communications on the Urge platform worldwide.
1. Absolute prohibition of CSAE and CSAM
Urge strictly prohibits, in all forms, child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This includes:
- Any content — images, video, text, or any other medium — that sexually exploits, depicts, or solicits minors.
- Any communication that grooms, solicits, recruits, or facilitates contact with a minor for sexual purposes.
- Any attempt to share, distribute, or obtain CSAM through the platform.
- Any conduct that constitutes trafficking or sexual exploitation of a child.
There is zero tolerance for this category of content or behavior. Accounts involved in CSAE or CSAM are immediately suspended and evidence is preserved and reported to the relevant authorities. This prohibition is not subject to appeal or exception.
2. Age requirements and enforcement
The Service is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. We enforce this requirement at every layer:
- Age gate at sign-up. Users must confirm they are 18 or older and provide a date of birth. Accounts are rejected if the stated age is below 18.
- Automated image moderation. Every photo uploaded to the platform is reviewed by an automated image-classification service before it is made visible. Images that may depict minors are held for human review.
- Human review queue. Our moderation team reviews images flagged by automated systems and any content reported by users.
- Account termination. Accounts found to belong to a person under 18 are terminated immediately, regardless of how the account was created.
3. Reporting CSAE or suspected underage users
3a. Report in the app
Every profile and conversation in Urge has a Report function. To report suspected CSAE or a user you believe may be under 18:
- Open the profile or chat of the user you wish to report.
- Tap the Report button (flag icon or menu option).
- Select the reason — choose "Underage user", "Child exploitation", or the closest applicable category.
- Add any details that will help our review team.
- Submit. You will receive an in-app confirmation.
Reported profiles are immediately eligible to be hidden from discovery while our team reviews the report.
3b. Report by email
If you cannot use the in-app report function, or if you have information about child safety that does not fit the in-app report flow, email our dedicated child-safety address: safety@urge18.com.
Please include as much detail as possible: the username or profile link, the nature of the concern, and any screenshots or other evidence. Do not share CSAM images or video in your email; describe what you observed instead.
3c. Report to external authorities
You should also report suspected CSAM or child exploitation directly to the relevant authorities. Urge is operated from the Republic of Georgia and our launch regions include the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Georgia:
- Republic of Georgia: the Patrol Police of Georgia (emergency: 112).
- European Union: your national law-enforcement agency and the relevant INHOPE-affiliated national hotline for reporting CSAM online. A directory of national hotlines is available at inhope.org.
- United States: report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org, and to local law enforcement.
- United Kingdom: report to the Internet Watch Foundation (iwf.org.uk) and to local police.
- Other jurisdictions: contact your local police or a national child-protection hotline.
4. How we act on reports
Every child-safety report triggers the following response:
- Immediate protective action. The reported profile is assessed for immediate suspension or removal from discovery pending review. Where the report indicates a risk to a minor, the account is suspended without delay.
- Legal hold (CSAE evidence). Any account subject to a child-safety report is placed under a legal hold. Account data — including messages, photos, and logs — is preserved for a minimum of one year, or longer as required by applicable law, and cannot be deleted (including by the account holder) while the hold is active. This overrides our standard 30-day deletion policy.
- Human review. Our moderation team reviews the evidence. We do not rely solely on automated systems for child-safety determinations.
- Permanent account termination. Accounts confirmed to be involved in CSAE, CSAM, or to belong to a minor are permanently banned. The ban is not reversible.
- Reporting to authorities. Where we identify or are made aware of CSAM or child exploitation, we report the matter to the relevant law-enforcement authorities and, where applicable, to INHOPE-affiliated national hotlines. We cooperate fully with law-enforcement requests and preserve evidence as required by law.
5. Content moderation infrastructure
We use a combination of automated and human moderation to prevent harmful content from reaching the platform:
- Automated image scanning by an automated image-classification service on every user-uploaded photo before publication.
- Human-in-the-loop review queue for images flagged as gray-zone by automated scanning, and for all content flagged via user reports.
- Message content monitoring as part of our abuse-detection systems, subject to applicable law.
- Zero-tolerance EULA. Our Terms of Use contain an explicit zero-tolerance clause for CSAE. Users agree to this at account creation; violation results in immediate termination.
6. Data retention for child-safety evidence
Our standard data retention policy provides for account and profile data to be purged 30 days after deletion. Child-safety evidence is expressly exempt from this policy. Evidence relating to a CSAE report or a confirmed CSAM incident is retained under legal hold for a minimum of one year from the date of the report, and for as long as required by applicable law or ongoing legal proceedings. This includes account data, messages, images, and related logs. See our Privacy Policy (§8, Data Retention) for the full retention schedule.
