Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OVDEVEL LLC ("Urge", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and otherwise processes your personal information when you use the Urge application and related services (the "Service"). Urge is an adults-only (18+) dating application. Where we rely on consent (including for special-category data and precise location), we ask for it separately in the app and you can withdraw it at any time.
1. Who we are (Controller)
The Service is operated by OVDEVEL LLC, a company registered in Georgia (the "Controller"). For privacy-related questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@urge18.com.
- Privacy contact: privacy@urge18.com.
- EU/EEA representative (GDPR Article 27): reachable via privacy@urge18.com.
- Supervisory authority: in Georgia, the competent supervisory authority under the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection; in the EEA/UK, your local data-protection authority.
2. Information we collect
- Account Information: your email address and your verified mobile phone number (used for SMS verification — you sign in with a code; Urge does not use passwords), plus a provider identifier if you sign in with Apple or Google.
- Profile Information you provide: display name, date of birth, gender, photos, bio, height, job, education, interests, languages, lifestyle details (such as drinking, smoking, exercise, pets), and relationship preferences.
- Special-category Personal Data: because Urge is a dating service, information you add — such as sexual orientation, or data revealing your sex life or orientation — is "special category personal data" under GDPR Article 9. We process it only with your explicit consent, requested separately in the app, and you can withdraw it at any time by editing your profile or deleting your account.
- Precise location: with your permission, we use your device GPS to show nearby people and your approximate city. Other users see only your approximate distance and city/country — never your exact coordinates or a location history.
- Content: messages and images you create. Messages automatically expire approximately 72 hours after they are sent.
- Usage & device data: app usage interactions, log data, device identifiers, IP address, diagnostics (including crash reports).
- Purchases: subscription status and transaction identifiers. Payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
3. How we use your information
To operate your account and profile; provide profile discovery, matching, and messaging; verify your phone number to prevent fake accounts and improve your account security; process subscriptions and enforce access; keep the community safe (image and message moderation, fraud/abuse detection, responding to reports); comply with law and enforce our Terms (including child-safety obligations); and diagnose problems and improve the Service.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK GDPR; equivalents under Georgian law)
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): to provide the core Service.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), and explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)) for special-category data and precise location — withdrawable at any time.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to secure the Service, prevent fraud/abuse, and maintain community safety.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): e.g. tax/accounting records and mandatory child-safety obligations.
5. How we share information
- With other users: your profile and content are shown to other users. We never share your exact coordinates — other users can only see your approximate distance and city.
- Service providers (processors), under data-processing agreements, in the following categories: cloud hosting, database, and photo storage; image moderation; SMS verification; transactional e-mail; rate-limiting and caching infrastructure; app-store subscription billing and validation; crash diagnostics; and app delivery and push notifications. We can provide the identity of the specific provider in any category on request at privacy@urge18.com.
- Safety & legal: to respond to lawful requests, protect users, investigate violations, or comply with law (including child-safety reporting).
- Business transfer: in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use special-category personal data for advertising purposes.
6. Location data
You can disable location permission at any time in your device settings. Core features (finding people nearby) may not function without it.
7. Your choices and rights
- Account deletion: from Settings → Delete Account. By default your account is immediately deactivated and hidden, then permanently purged after 30 days; during that window you can restore it by signing back in again. You may also choose immediate permanent deletion.
- Withdraw consent: edit your profile or delete your account; turn off location in device settings.
- Notifications: control push notifications in your device settings.
- To exercise access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection — or to withdraw consent — contact privacy@urge18.com. You may also complain to your supervisory authority.
8. Data retention
- Account and profile data: while active; purged ~30 days after deletion.
- Chat messages: auto-deleted ~72 hours after sending.
- Precise location: while active; deleted with the account.
- Phone-verification (OTP) records: codes expire in minutes; cleared within ~48 hours.
- Safety reports: up to ~3 years from closure.
- Child-safety (CSAE) evidence: legal hold ≥1 year where required.
- Payment / subscription records: ~7 years (tax/accounting law).
When you delete your account we delete your personal records except where we must keep limited records to meet a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. We may keep non-identifiable aggregate analytics with no user ID, email, profile data, precise location, device identifier, or message content.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures — encryption in transit, hashed verification codes, access controls, rate limiting, and automated abuse detection. No method of transmission or storage is completely (100%) secure.
10. Children
The Service is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, we enforce an age gate at sign-up, and we remove accounts found to belong to minors. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the competent authorities as required by law.
11. International transfers
We are based in Georgia and use service providers in the United States and elsewhere. Where personal data is transferred across borders we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision) together with our data-processing agreements.
12. Region-specific disclosures
EEA/UK (GDPR): the rights and legal bases above apply; you may complain to your local supervisory authority. Georgia: processing follows the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection; complaints may be lodged with the competent supervisory authority under that law. California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive data, without discrimination (applies when the Service launches in the US).
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by other appropriate means. If you continue using the Service after the changes take effect, the updated Privacy Policy will apply to your use of the Service.
